In a dimly lit apartment in the heart of downtown Chicago, Jon Hyde, having yet to recover from his wife's sudden death, has cut himself off from the world. From beneath a sea of crumpled paper and unwashed laundry, the phone rings. It is a distant echo to Jon, a call from a world he no longer inhabits. The phone persists. The volume of the rings amplifies. Picking up the receiver, Jon hears a voice from the past, from a happier, more idealistic time. Childhood friend Christian Moore wastes little time shattering Jon's self imposed and isolated protective world.
