Days 1-5 Days 6-15 Guides

DAY 1:
Transport from Anchorage International Airport to Talkeetna. An afternoon of orientation and dinner fills out the day.

DAY 2:
We fly to base camp on two Cessna 185 ski equipped planes. The flight in is spectacular and an incomparable way to see the Denali range. We begin our climb immediately. Up Kahiltna Glacier, we’ll skirt the edge of a vast crevasse field on our way to Ski Hill Camp at 7,800 feet.

DAY 3:
A long day of climbing as we ascend to Motorcycle Hill Camp. We’ll be bypassing the traditional camp on Upper Kahiltna Glacier to gain an extra day. Winds are high through this stretch and sometimes whiteouts can slow expeditions down to a crawl.

DAY 4:
Acclimatization day. If weather permits, this day provides a good opportunity to climb down to Kahiltna Dome for a stunning view of the summit.

DAY 5:
We depart camp and travel Windy Corner (11,000 to 13,500 feet), an exposed and sometimes vicious section of the route. We will bypass 13,500 camp and travel directly to Basin Camp at 14,200 where we will camp for two days to acclimatize.
